Ms. Dominique Pritula graduated with honours and first class-standing from Brock University in St.Catharines, Ontario, Canada in the field of Political Science with a specialization in Public Administration. She is a senior policy advisor in the Air Quality Program Office within the Environmental Protection Branch at Environment and Climate Change Canada. She has been with Environment and Climate Change Canada for 17 years working on transboundary air pollution issues.
Ms. Pritula led the Parliamentary approval process within Canada to ratify the Gothenburg Protocol and accept its 2012 amendments. Since 2018, Ms. Pritula has been the lead negotiator for Canada under the Air Convention, while also taking on the role of vice-chair of the Working Group on Strategies and Review (the negotiating body of the Convention), vice-chair of the Executive Body (decision-making body of the Convention) and as an air quality expert in several ad hoc groups related to the review and revision of the Gothenburg Protocol. In December 2024, Ms. Pritula was elected Chair of the Executive Body of the Air Convention.
In addition to her work on the Air Convention, Ms. Pritula is also works on air quality related issues in other multilateral fora including under the United Nations Environment Program, United Nations Environment Assembly, G7/G20, and the Clean Air Task Team under the Clean Air Flagship of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition, etc.
