Mikael Skou Andersen, PhD, is full professor of environmental policy analysis at Aarhus University (Denmark).
Mikael Skou Andersen’s research is interdisciplinary, connecting policy, law and economics with competencies and models from the natural sciences and engineering, aiming to inform decision making. Mikael Skou Andersen was PI of the research project ‘New Nordic Ways to Green Growth - Strengthening the foundation for technological green growth innovation policy’ funded by Nordic Cooperation. He is currently coordinating the Horizon Europe project MARCHES (Methodologies for Assessing the Real Costs to Health of Environmental Stressors; https://projects.au.dk/marches).
Mikael Skou Andersen has contributed numerous reports and papers for international organizations, including OECD, World Bank, UNEP, Asian Development Bank and European Commission. He was member and vice chair of the Scientific Committee of the European Environment Agency (EEA) from 2015-22. Currently editor of the journal ‘Ecological Economics’ and of ‘Critical Issues in Environmental Taxation’.
